“I Choose Europe” bus tours around Europe: Part III

The final part of the bus tours started on 24 April and ended on 30 April 2019.

Rome, Italy (24 April)

The participants arrived at Piazza Montecitorio, where they attended the event “The Europe we want (L’Europa che vogliamo)” by the Italian sections of  JEF, UEF and the European Movement, which gathered approximately 200 people. Informal activities were carried on, and both the participants and passersby were involved. Among these, a big blue banner where everyone could leave a star-shaped note with their comments and hopes about the future of Europe was hanging. Madeleina Kay, AKA EU Supergirl, performed during the event. These activities facilitated the active participation of everyone, and through each activity volunteers could share information about the I Choose Europe campaign. Finally, the day was closed with a flash-mob.

Barcelona, Spain (26 April)

The participants attended UEF’s “We are Europe Citizens’ Agora”, which included a public debate about the future of Europe in the context of the EE19 followed by a concert. The also run the campaign stand at the ESCI-UPF School of International Studies together with the Spanish sections of JEF and UEF, reaching out to passersby to discuss Europe and the upcoming elections, offering Europe-focused games, distributing promotional materials and gadgets, taking photos for social media and collecting “votes” in the “ballot box”.

Paris, France (28 April)

The participants run the campaign stand together with JEF France, reaching out to passersby to discuss Europe and the upcoming elections, offering Europe-focused games, distributing promotional materials and gadgets, taking photos for social media and collecting “votes” in the “ballot box”.

Lille, France (29 April)

The participants run the campaign stand together with JEF Lille, reaching out to passersby to discuss Europe and the upcoming elections, offering Europe-focused games, distributing promotional materials and gadgets, taking photos for social media and collecting “votes” in the “ballot box”.

Brussels, Belgium (29-30 April)

The participants watched a live debate with Spitzenkandidaten, facilitating EE19-related games and challenges among other attendees as part of the Yo!Fest in front of the EUropean Parliament.

On 30 April, the participants run the campaign stand as part of Yo!Fest at the European Parliament with the support of the EEE-YFU, reaching out to passersby to discuss Europe and the upcoming elections, offering Europe-focused games, distributing promotional materials and gadgets, taking photos for social media and collecting “votes” in the “ballot box”. They also had the opportunity to attend numerous debates, workshops and games offered as part of Yo!Fest.

Afterwards, they attended an EE19 debate with local MEP candidates organized by JEF Belgium. The debate was held in English and French, allowing all the participants and attendees to ask questions and engage in a follow-up discussion.
